Up at Amherst this morning I came across this fresh hole some clown had walked away from :





they also walked away from a perfect mellow drop-tone signal in the hole, and had they bothered to dig another inch, they would have found this 2.7 grammer :





Serves them right for not filling in their hole.

I have a friend who found an 8 ounce nugget just the same way!

Anyone not filling in holes is causing us BIG PROBLEMS!

Well done Phil. It makes me laugh how prostectors start digging a target and half way through give up and walk away without finding what the target was. Your gain mate and their loss. But would have you waved your coil over the hole if they filled it in??

Congratulations Phil, Very nice Nugget. Just last week some 10km from where you got this I got a 9.5gm from a hole that was 4" deep that some fool had left open.Got a clear dig signal, dug to 12" & got a great nugget.( having trouble with my computer & can't load pictures)

Seriously though, found countless coins in the side of a hole that people have dug in parks. Looking forward to finding gold in someone elses hole.

Nice find! Best i go and revisit some holes that i presumed were ground noises and gave up digging.

well deserved! I reckon the first digger on this hole probably had a too small pick
and couldn't be bothered to widen the hole. Hope this 'detectorist' (can't call them prospectors)
will recognise his hole and gets blue with envy seeing your pic
