mmmm ya really want to know ??????? ok il tell ya i go exploreing old mines just for plain fun sometimes and yes i take all the right gear and do all the right checks.

anyway i went down this old mine that had been worked since the 1860s to about 1910 i think. so i went down the hole with me climbing gear got to the bottum of the shaft and then i picked up a peace of slate that had a small quartz vain runing through it. but no gold in it that waset the thing that led me to the reef what led me to find the reef was a round ball sticking out of the rock. at first i thorght it was a pebble but it was in fact a pyrite blob and right next to it was a small quartz vain less than a cm thick. so i fellowed this verry small quartz vain and found that it ran into a bigger vain.

that bigger vain i chiped a bit of it away and behind the first peace i found a small nuget so thats how i found it but i don't think manny people can get into a tight craw space down a 60 meture drop to get too it besides its on private propety and the farmer so far has only let me on his land and we both want to keep it quiet cheers so i really wasent even expecting to find any gold at all because i was just exploreing pirat cheers Very Happy

You got any zoomed out pics of what an 1800s mine shaft looks like? Always interested to see how they support them from collapsing and how they've held up over 200 years. Do you come across many that are flooded?

im cool with climbing and tight spaces its the effin spiders that get me. Do you see many down there or snakes and what is your plan if you were to get bitten, a 60m climb would work the venom well and truely into your system.
