then i detected for another 6 hours and got nothing

it weighs 1.1 grams maybe 0.5 of gold

yes mate i clean them up in aluminium cleaner. i leave some of the pieces soaking in cleaner for months. after i took the photos in the link below i put them back in cleaner

I experience that too lately, most
gold I find within the first 10 to 15 mins
or right at the end of the day. All the 'in
between times' are good physical work out

The first hour is usually the best for gold, concentration and energy levels are at their peak. After that we should just pack up and go home .
Nice find phoenix, some days just work out like that, at least you went home with a rattle in your jar .

Do you or have you ever used Hydrofluoric acid mate?
I know it breaks down calcium and silica’s does it do anything to iron stone

no mate , i have never used Hydrofluoric. its a little dangerous for my liking , but i believe that there are very small amounts of hydrofluric in the aluminium cleaner
