Creation of new thread for X-Coils Empty Creation of new thread for X-Coils

G'day fellow prospectors

For all GPZ 7000/GPX users, a new category/forum section has been created for the new line up of X-Coils under the "All about coils" section.
All scattered information/threads/posts regarding the new X-Coil range, have been moved from various categories & can now be found in the X-Coil section, under the "All about coils" thread.

Cheers Management.

Creation of new thread for X-Coils Empty Burying threads.

Post  Reg Wilson on Mon Sep 09, 2019 12:16 am

Yeah, that's fine kon, except by transferring threads such as this one to a categorized section you actually tend to bury it. All you have to do is look at other threads that have been slotted to general to see that they die. You may have the best of intentions, but you stifle threads by this action. Not smart if you want to see your forum thrive, and not end up 'deady bones'.
When people open this forum they tend to go straight to general discussion, and if nothing is happening there, they go elsewhere. Not everyone bothers to go to general, which has become a bit of a graveyard.
Perhaps you are having trouble seeing the forest because of the trees.

Creation of new thread for X-Coils Empty Re: Creation of new thread for X-Coils

Not at all Reg. True It is under the General Discussion section, that all posts eventually get pushed further back till they tend to dis-appear into oblivion.
This is why the new lineup of aftermarket X-Coils, were categorised to go under their appropriate sections, such as in this case under the "All about Coils Section" in order for all/any relevant information concerning them or their use, can easily be found & continue to be discussed without the introduction/interruption of other irrelevant topics settling in.(as tends to happen under the General Discussion thread).
I agree that when people open up this (or any other forum for that matter) they go straight into a "General Discussion" section, in order to see what the latest news is, but I'm quite sure there are many readers on here, members or not, that are after some sort of specific info which most the times can only be found under a specific category.
Now as for members wanting to contribute in way of discussion on this forum, is not up to me, but up to each & every member on here. Each to their own discretion.
Not just this forum, but most forums concerning the Prospecting for gold, using hand held metal detectors, have all but gone quiet. This "silence is deafening"  so to speak, I contribute not so much to the members, but more so to the lack lustre of new detecting technology/gold finds coming in.
We are entering an era, where not only the ground for gold finds within reach, have all but been depleted, but so has the invention of far better detecting technology for gold, & unless something in the "Wow" factor is close to being introduced & soon (& not just in the form of cosmetic changes), I'm afraid to say that all or any Prospecting for Gold forums using hand held metal detecting technology, will reach a stale mate.
Rest assured though, all is not lost, for as far as this forum is concerned, it ain't going anywhere anytime soon & with the better weather conditions ahead, things take a turn for the better.

Cheers Kon. T25
