Page 62 in the manual notes that 'it is important that the motion setting you select matches the speed at which you swing the coil.'

There are four motion settings - very slow, slow,  medium,  fast.

How long should it take to swing from one side to the other to match the motion settings?

Regards
John

Hello John,
Never really timed it but using "slow" which is our preferred method using 20" NF at a guess I'd say 3 seconds from far right to far left.
A little info here.

G'day John ,mate I've never bothered my self timing it as well ,the detector will let you know if your a bit fast ,particularly in very slow /slow ,by being a bit noisy at the end of the swing /and or if your G/B  is out as well .

Thanks for the replies and the link.

Since I asked the question I found some more info on the Minelab site - http://www.minelab.com/treasure-talk/tracking-motion-and-sweep-speed-part-2

regards

John
