just a quick question to all those that use headphones

what are the different types of headphones to use?
If the male adapter is the same size, then will any headphone work in the detector?

cheers Kane

hey mate I'm new to this also, but i used with a small amp, iPhone ear buds on my GMT, and work fine.

but i have a gpx4000 now and i use a pair of koss ur30 headphones here is the specs below so i guess you find
a pair that are similar in frequency and ohms and you will have no drama

Hi XIV,
I use koss 30 and i find them very good. They are little uncomfortable in summer as its too hot to use them.

Few members use lighter under chin models:

I use these ones but very rarely as i am used to other ones (koss30).
You can buy add with bigger jack to fit into battery.

thanks for the reply,
I am heading out on monday for about a week or 2,
one of my mates has lent me his sdc2300, but just thought the earphones would help listen to the sounds of the detector better, other than the sounds of the surrounding bush,

Hi XIV,
I am headphone user.(Cant get use to speakers).

Last few trips i used friends 2300 (4 different ones).

2 came with headphones 2 didnt.
I found gold with all of them without problem hearing it.

So if you use 2300 without headphones i dont think you will miss much.

Signals are quite clear.

Go low and dig everything.

Hi XIV

I have an sdc2300

If you are planning on using one with headphones, you will also need one of these leads.

http://phasetechnical.com.au/product/sdc2300_adaptor_lead/
Hopefully the borrowed one comes with one.

And then you can use the Koss 30 or Koss 80 with it.

If you use headphones like iPod ones.. You will need the adapter jack.
This link is just to show you what one I am talking about.
