The standard coil supplied by Whites on the TDI in Australia is a mono coil

G'day Daverave and Welcome to the Forum. I believe what you are referring to as a duel field is in fact a "DD" coil and the answer to the Mono is yes as the name states "Mono" meaning single.
As for going deeper on Gold yes in the right ground conditions the Mono coil will go deeper than a DD, but the DD will out perform in Heavily mineralised ground.
Hope this helps.

Cheers.

Mike.

The coil on your TDI Pro Oz is a mono coil. Whites appear to have used the same coil case that is used for the American model which has a Dual field coil as standard. In the Australian model the inner or smaller coil is deleted but the coil case looks the same as the dual field. The dual field coil has two concentric round windings (large outer coil and small inner coil). Whites have not produced any DD coils for the TDI that I am aware of.
