Jims GPS Co-ordinates

sent you a email the other week regarding your coordinates on your cd,s. but i have not heard from you probably lost in cyber space .
what i want to know is what format are your coordinates in as i want to convert them to decimal degrees,i have a couple of conversion tools for no results .hoping you can help me.

Hi Reg,
sorry but I didn't get your email as you say, probably lost in cyberspace. All the GPS waypoints are in normal Lat & long as far as knowing anything else about them I can't help you. I'm a bit of a technophobe when it comes to all that stuff. I simply take the reading off my GPS on-site.

Coordinates on Jims CD for example are 22.45.45 S 147.35.58 E this is a position on his Clermont CD and is in the Apsley GPA. They are expressed as "Degrees Decimal Minutes" on Jims CD. In Google Earth if you go to options and change the "Show Lat/Long" you will get the same as Jims CD's, only the last number in S & E has 3 digets instead of his 2 digets which makes very little difference out in the bush.

In the google Earth settings there are 4 different choices for different types of coordinate systems.

Kml. that would be good, Iv'e not learned much on how to get Kml. convert and work for me.

The only way I do it is put the way points I want to use into Google Earth manually I'm and thats a bit of a slow way of doing it.

thanks david that would be great, i done as davsgold said i added a zero on the end of the last 2 didgets then converted through my etrax, then tried them on google earth but something is not ringing true.
