Maps and GPS locations
Just a Quick 1, are all maps and GPS locations all trustworthy and correct? Is there anything I should know about before I purchase any of these? It seems like they would be legit and I'm only asking as I want to give myself the best chance before I begin. Want to do as much homework so I can enjoy everything about the hunt.
Cheers

Re: Maps and GPS locations
Hi mate
Any research artillery comes fairly cheap
And most pays it self off pretty quick
Gps coards and mapping
Are pretty accurate within a few mtrs
But to top that off find out about the history
Of the areas you are researching
Ie
What type of gold
How they got it
We're they got it
How much they got
But it's easy to get side tracked
Doing this as the history interests me more
Than the search until I've learned all I can
Via Internet books and so forth
Then comes the time to go and have a look
And put theory into practical
And look at what you read about
And start searching
Good luck
Research won't hurt but it will help

Re: Maps and GPS locations
Thanks lbg dreamer yeh I thought it would be pretty reliable just had to ask as you just never know who might be trying to make money of false info and products these days. As far as some of the history goes I too find interesting as the research goes on. I'm trying to do some research around the rushy area as it would be a 45min drive for me and as I'm new to the game, not to costly to travel and a relatively cheap learning curve.

That's lateral thinking
Mate
I spent 12 gold less months driving
2 hrs each way
At least three days a week
I did find gold in the end
But it cost big bux
Then decided to poke round and cut my teeth
So to speak close to home
And did just that
And on some nasty ground
But I'm a few ounces heavier on my tally
And have spent a lot more time swinging
Then driving
Good luck
You have the right idea
I think the John Tully maps would benefit you
If they cover the areas you want to try
But I'm in nsw
So don't know a great deal on em

Re: Maps and GPS locations
Hope I can avoid the 12 month drought I'll be lucky if I do lol. I'm not expecting too much the thrill of the hunt and being outside in the bush is great, everything else is a bonus. Glad to hear you eventually hit some gold. I'll check those maps out also and thx again.
